about

We see you now

This is an open letter to the people and the ideological poisons destroying who we are as humanity

We hope you never have to hide or lower yourself because of the melanin you were born with

We hope you never have to walk home because taxi drivers drive off to avoid service

We hope you’re never ridiculed and discriminated against when you’re only trying to serve a beer to the very same person implementing it

We hope you never feel unfairness and judgement when casually applying for a job

We hope you never have to run for your own safety because of how you look

We really hope

Because we see you now

Remember,

There are no Rulebooks or guidelines, and there never should be.

The inequities of race in our societal structures hinder our efforts, our unity and our growth as a people.

The structure is broken,

We continue to abide by it, adjust, adapt

Entire lives devoted towards this structural contract

And yet the breath of our people, those people ‘Every People’ are still taken

That devotion - advantage taken, identity taken, occupation taken, health taken, heritage taken, culture taken
In most cases used for their own gain

The simple comfortability of being around friends and your identity is treated separately due to the colour of your skin, those around you may not see it, but once again devotion taken, all of it endlessly taken.

Hundreds of years
Year after year
Just imagine for a second...

By the very same structure that’s in place to educate, protect and incorporate rightful treatment towards its people

Still wondering why they’re rioting?

It allows the worst of us to abuse the power they know they have.
No longer
Progress has come
Elimination has come

We see you now

Equality can and will cure
Unity can and will cure
Justice can and will cure
Respect
Awareness
Peace
Freedom
Compassion
Prosperity
Innovation
Education
Love

These are our greatest strengths

Our testament as human kind

They can and will cure this poison

This broken structure

Because we see you now.

This project comes from the deepest parts of who I am, activated by todays rise from people of colour. Thank you to Jack aka Rainy Miller for providing me a way to express myself musically. Every penny made with 'We See You Now' will be donated to the Black Visions Collective movement who have been on the front line for some time now. Read about their story and support in any way you can, even if it's only a positive insta post.
