These prints stem from a rich and beautiful fabric called Kanga, originating from Kenya and with trace elements of Indian traditional designs (Kenya has the 2nd largest population of Indian peoples and heritage besides India itself!). The quote detail on the bottom translates: “kanga from place of happiness, Mombasa, Kenya”.

Our T-shirts are also sourced from Fair Share meaning they carry a small price premium that is passed directly on to the garment workers in India towards their Living Wage. ♻️

about

There has been quite a lot that's happened this year which has ignited purpose, resilience and creativity around the world in extraordinary ways.
So birth Ruthala in its purest form.

Ghetto make-shift studio recording (no egg cartons we promise) with loose freestyles in words, wobbling harmonic synth cords and erratic drum slaps from worlds such as West Africa and India. Session Riddim fuses ethnic beats and swings stemming from Dancehall, South African Kwaito and 2014's origin of Amapiano.

As things slowly return to normal we won't have the opportunity of 'Club' life we all know too well anytime soon. Here's a project to hopefully bring an intimate Caribbean dance and drum venture to your home and private party plans over the coming months - and if there is one please contact directly.
